For the fisherman who sail on her, the sea of Galilee provides plenty of fish and plenty of stories. Local fishermen Simon, Andrew, James & John have got a tale to beat them all, it involves a fishing competition, wherein a strange man appears and blow everyone’s efforts out of the water. With a host of hearty songs and interactive story-telling, Fisherman’s Tail is a show not to be missed.
Since its first tour in 2017, Fisherman’s Tail has gone from strength to strength. It has toured nationally 5 times around schools and church venues and has enjoyed two very successful runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The show is 1 hour long. We also require 1 hour either side of the performance for set up / set down (3 hours in the performance space in total).
and all we need to make the show happen is a minimum 4x4m clear space
How much is it?
Discounts available for multiple bookings.
Fisherman’s Tail is not only a fantastically fun show for schools, yet it teaches about the life and miracles of Jesus, enriching the RE syllabus. We perform right across the age-groups for the whole school, and it can be performed in your school hall (or other appropriate space).
It is also now an officially recommended resource for the Church of England’s Understanding Christianity RE syllabus in Primary schools.
Following the performance we leave your school with follow-up worksheets for the classroom, allowing the children to reflect on the performance and solidify their learning (There are different worksheets for KS1 & KS2 and even some colouring sheets for Early Years)
The show is available for public performances in churches for the whole family. The show works well as a standalone event or to tie in with existing families/outreach/children’s events.
Churches can also host school performances, often a church will host a performance or two in the church building and invite local schools. This works brilliantly as a community event as it:
There are multi-show discounts available for churches hosting multiple school performances on one day or across multiple days, or daytime school performances coupled with evening/weekend public performances. Please get in touch for more details.
We have received brilliant responses and glowing feedback from children, teachers, church leaders and general audience members each time we’ve put out the show. But we’ve also had some great professional reviews:
“It’s a bit like CBBC’s Horrible Histories in that the songs tell the stories and don’t always take themselves too seriously but tell the story in a really engaging way” – Primary Times
“With plenty of tongue and cheek humour, Fisherman’s Tail takes an honest and modern take on what it might have been like for the disciples to give up their life as fishermen and follow Jesus” - Deadline News ★★★★★
“Filled with heart-warming, life-warming, foot-stompers” - The 730 Review ★★★★
